PCHS would like to offer a grant for those riders that may need assistance in showing their horse. We want to encourage this sport, because of all the valuable lessons that can be gained from participation, like sportsmanship, responsibility for themselves and their horse, leadership, and self accomplishment. The Bean Equine Education Foundation will underwrite a grant for $500 show dollars to any rider who completes the following qualifications listed below. The $500 PCHS dollars can be used at any of our shows to cover the rider’s show fees, except the fees to CA and GSDHJA. Riders can apply at any time and if the Rider completes the qualification by October 1, 2008, the rider will receive at our Championship show their $500 Award. Recognition for participation and the other awards will be done at our Celebration of Champions banquet Spring 2009.

The following list is the qualifications for the grant:

  1. Nomination for the PCHS Grant - A written recommendation from outside the riders family, i.e. trainer or barn manager Something as simple as an e-mail or a short note via fax or mail will be fine.
  2. Write a 1500 word minimum (about 1 page) can be longer if you choose essay on any horse related topic, i.e. about the breed of your horse, how to clean a saddle properly, what are the signs of colic. You can call us for ideas!
